This 1970 Shakespeare Wondereel 1810 Model DK is an underspin reel for under-the-rod mounting. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, this reel is a piece of history that can still be put to great use today. The Shakespeare dating system makes DK produced in 1970-1977. Whether you're into freshwater fishing or just appreciate quality craftsmanship, this reel is a must-have for your collection. By 1952 Shakespeare offered the Wondereel 1852 and 6 other lines of high-quality reels. The 1810 DK was designed to be used on spinning rods which had either sliding reel seats, sliding rings, or fixed reel seats which were mounted behind the hand, and under the rod, in a position similar to that of a fly reel. The polished aluminum, closed face design includes deluxe micro-drag, 4:1 gear ratio, smooth level-wind (invented in 1895 by William Shakespeare, Jr, founder), and lever type non-reverse.
