The reel is new (unused) in original box, complete with instruction manual, warranty papers and wrench. I removed the side plate and removed the dried grease and replaced with fresh grease and oiled it. It works flawlessly! Rare to see this on bottom of box stamped Jun 24 1953! The model 1850 is a beast. Heavy built and quality throughout. Built in Canada. The FJ represents the introduction of this reel in 1952. Has the oscillating spool cover and carbon pickup pin. Reel is made of anodized aluminum before applying the enamel (leaded paint made to last) Reel also features anti reverse and free spool with easy access on handle. Smooth drag control is accomplished by turning the front spool cover. Line release is accomplished by reversing the handle 1/2 turn. A well designed reel that has stood the test of time as my brother still fishes with one of these. A great piece to add to your collection!
